This puffy blue and black vest from Old Navy is the perfect comfort item for a cold winter day. The vest has plenty of fill to make you feel nice and cozy. It's kind of like wearing a soft blanket because the material is super soft flannel. The outfit was all about staying warm right down to the soft fuzzy lined clogs. The crocs are perfect to wear around the house to keep your toes warm, but if you need to run out for something you're also set for wet weather. The colorful eyeshadow is from Urban Decay's electric palette. It's a super fun eyeshadow palette filled with bold matte colors. It's great to pair with some of the neutrals from the Urban Decay Naked basics palette. Urban decay makes some of my favorite eyeshadows (highly pigmented, fun colors) and purchasing a palette is a great way to get a lot of colors to experiment with different looks. I think a palette is the best way to purchase eyeshadow.

I hope you are staying warm and if you're in the Pacific Northwest dry! We've been having quite the downpour recently, which has made getting around interesting. Only a couple weeks left until Christmas, are you all ready? I just have a few more packages to mail and getting ready for out-of-town visitors. Happy Holidays! I cannot believe how fast 2015 has flown by.

'Tis the season for Christmas sweaters and this one is a steal ringing in at less than $13. It's comfy, cute and I just love that big reindeer on the front. Plus, the red color is a pretty sweet deep crimson red. It's also a perfect match for Nars Cruella matte lip pencil. The black pants are amazing and ridiculously soft and flattering, which can be quite rare for black pants. There are snowflakes on those socks even if it's a hard to see. Will you be adding any holiday sweaters to your wardrobe this season? Comment below to let me know.

Sequins, hearts and the blues

I've been waiting for the cooler weather to pull out this lovely heather blue sweatshirt. It's just as comfy as an old sweatshirt, but has some fun details including sequins, hearts and my very favorite are the buttons up the back. It also has a longer hemline in the back and a different crepe-like fabric at the bottom, which adds some extra style. I paired the top with grey jeggings and some fun Ziera flats that are purple and blue. The necklace and bracelet were both holiday bazaar finds from Cookie Lee and purchased from the sweetest lady. The main metal color is a bronzed gold. I really like that it's not your typical gold or silver. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of the bracelet and pair it with other pieces. Also, both of the items are high quality pieces and have a nice solid weight. The bright red lip (reminds me of a tomato) is the Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint from Cailyn in Expressionist. I love Cailyn's liquid lipstick. It's a very thin consistency, which makes it easier to apply. You carefully apply the color exactly where you want it and let it dry. Then apply one more coat and let it dry. This lipstick will stay on all day without getting all over the place. Love it! For more makeup details and photos, please visit my instagram account @melissamchee.

As you can see from the photo background, it's getting cold here in Oregon. Is there anything you are thinking of adding to your winter wardrobe for the upcoming months? Have you scored any good deals for the winter weather? I have definitely been browsing some warm winter coats.  Have a great week, stay warm dolls!

Lash Glue Lowdown

November 23, 2015 Melissa Chee

I adore a set of false lashes. A pair of long black lashes are the finishing touch for a dramatic makeup look. I don't think you need to wear lashes everyday, but when it's an occasion or you want to look amazing in photos, put on those false lashes! Besides picking out a pair of lashes, you will also need lash glue. This post is specifically about glue options for strip lashes, not individual lashes. You can also buy self-adhesive lashes that are basically pre-glued. So that's an option if you don't want to deal with glue at all. You can often make a pair of lashes last through several wearings. This works better using the regular strip lashes and lash glue. Let's get down to some of my favorite and not so favorite lash glues.

Duo Lash Adhesive Dark Tone

I think this type of glue is the most versatile. If I were going to purchase one lash glue this would definitely be it. This lash glue comes in a white squeeze tube. You just put a thin strip of glue along a lash and be sure to wait until the glue gets tacky. About 15 to 30 seconds should do the trick. You can test it with a nail tip to see if the glue is tacky (adheres to your nail and stretches a bit. If it it doesn't adhere at all, wait a few more seconds until it does.) I typically wear a dark liner, usually black when I apply false lashes, and the dark tone of this glue blends in much better than the clear version. The reason? Sometimes the Duo Lash Adhesive in the clear version dries white and that stands out on your black eyeliner with your black lashes. It's really annoying after you've put work into your beautiful eye look. This type of glue is especially great if you are applying a heavy duty lash like Ardell's double up lashes or thicker lashes like Halloween lashes. So if you're looking for a dark heavy duty lash glue with plenty of staying power, Duo Lash Adhesive Dark Tone is the way to go.

Duo Lash Adhesive Clear

Sometimes you are going to want a clear (or lighter colored) lash glue. Maybe you are doing a clean makeup look without any eyeliner, but still want big lashes. Or perhaps you're creating a look with a bold neon liner and dark tone glue just wouldn't work. This is a great time to reach for the Duo Lash Adhesive Clear. Just follow the same instructions above and be sure to wait for the glue to get tacky before applying.

Duo Dark Brush on Adhesive

I love the applicator that comes with this lash glue! It's so easy. The container is like a liquid liner: you simply unscrew the lid and use the brush to apply the glue to a lash. Apply two to three coats of glue on the lash to be sure you have enough glue to hold on the lash. For the reasons I mentioned above, I prefer the dark tone. This glue is also a lot less messy than the kind that comes in a tube. It's perfect for lightweight lashes. This glue dries faster than the kind in a tube, so you will not have to wait as long before you apply the lashes or test for tackiness, just give it a few seconds and put on the lashes. In fact, this glue dries so fast you might have to apply more. Another bonus, when you remove your lashes this type of glue leaves very little leftover glue on the lashes so it's very easy to use your lashes a few more times. This also comes in clear if that works better for you. If I were only going to buy two lash glues, Duo Dark Brush on Adhesive would be one of them. Revlon sells a similar version. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work well. The glue is not strong enough to hold your lashes on throughout the day.

I hope these tips help you the next time you are deciding on which lash glue to purchase. Let me know if you have a favorite that I haven't tried yet! Happy gluing.

Sometimes a fall day is all about being comfy and this gorgeous Mizzou sweatshirt definitely hits the mark. I love the feel of a cozy sweatshirt on a cool fall day and this sweatshirt is stylish to boot with its drawstring cowl and fitted cut. It also has thumbholes. Love those! I also adore these grey jeggings from Torrid. They have a lot of stretch, fit perfect from every angle and are just dark enough to be super flattering. The shading is so slimming! I wish I could wear them everyday. I've been doing a lot of holiday bazaars and I made myself a few new rings! They are all wire wrapped. If you're local to the Portland Metro area, visit my facebook page to see the bazaars where you can come visit me and shop lots of rings. The lipstick is NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella; great name right? It's super easy to apply because it's just a big pencil. I did use a little Urban Decay ozone lip liner (clear) to keep it from feathering. The red is super deep, a great color for fall makeup looks. For more makeup photos, be sure to follow me on instagram @melissamchee. Thank you for stopping by!
