Chocolate Lash Look video

I started my YouTube channel, which will be all about one of my great loves makeup and here is my very first makeup video. Fair warning it's long and the camera placement is not the greatest, but I promise I will improve. You have to start somewhere, right?

This look is all about the lashes, specifically Ardell's Chocolate lashes #886. These lashes are amazing! They are black/brown and have a beautiful curl. The lashes are curled in little sections with more or less curl in every other section. This makes the lashes look like they have a ton of volume, but are still super lightweight. It's also really fun to wear something different than the standard black false lashes. I think the lashes even look a bit like mink lashes. I also used Gwen Stefani's new eye palette, which I'm loving. If you are interested, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Snow days and faux fur

These photos do not do this amazing faux fur jacket justice. It is so cozy, lovely and fashionable. The jacket is jet black with a chevron stripe pattern. I purchased it at Macy's on a good sale, but it's not still available online. If you can find it in a store, it's a ridiculous bargain now. A faux fur jacket is an easy way to dress up any look this winter. You'll feel super glamorous, trust me! While it's not right for outdoor sports, the faux fur does keep you decently warm too. Perfect for a night out or stroll in the snow. Cheers to 2016

It didn't hit me that 2015 was over, well until it happened. And we were onto 2016! I hope you had a fabulous start to the new year. I attended a fun New Years Eve party "The White Ball" in Vancouver, Washington. I found this dress already in my closet. I wore it for an event in college, we're talking way back in 2003. There aren't many things I still have around that old, but in this case it proved quite helpful. And it even still fit. (Now you know I'm not very good at doing that thing where you frequently clean out your closet.) The black jacket is a more recent clearance rack find from Lane Bryant. It definitely made the outfit. Plus, I had a reason to wear my Charles Albert statement necklace. The necklace was my major souvenir purchase from my trip to Alaska last summer. I tried to do a "sexy new year's eve" waves hair tutorial, but my hair ended up pretty flat. You are supposed to curl your hair in opposite directions and then spray it with a texturing spray. I used Suave's Sea Salt Texturizing Spray. I think I needed some hair spray. The texturizing spray seemed to deflate my curl. Oh well, I've always been more of a makeup girl than a hair girl. Just put some sparkle on it

This sweater is so sparkly that you look dressed up as soon as you put it on. How easy is that? I also love the royal blue. I had a birthday party to attend with a "blue & bling" theme and this sweater was perfect. The 3/4 length sleeves are flattering along with the fade-to-black. I recently purchased this sweater at Macy's and it came in several other colors including a beautiful aqua green that I also picked up. The sweater also comes in a gold and red. It's even on sale now! This sweater could add some sparkle to your new year's eve if you need something easy last minute. Wishing you a great end to 2015 and a wonderful new year!

'Tis the Season for Christmas Sweaters

This adorable Christmas sweater was less than $17! A deal and so cute. And since you might only be able to wear a Christmas sweater to a party or two during the holiday season, there's no reason to spend a lot. But you will be ready for next year! This outfit was my choice for a work holiday party. The sweater was just the right amount of festive and it was also comfy, which is always a bonus. Christmas is almost here so you only have a few more days to wear those Christmas sweaters! Let's make it Christmas sweater week. I'm also wearing a new lipstick from MAC.
