Quite foxy

I love the 3/4 length sleeves--always my favorite--and the skirt has plenty of flare. It also has a lovely open back and little bow! Snow days and faux fur

These photos do not do this amazing faux fur jacket justice. It is so cozy, lovely and fashionable. The jacket is jet black with a chevron stripe pattern. I purchased it at Macy's on a good sale, but it's not still available online. If you can find it in a store, it's a ridiculous bargain now. A faux fur jacket is an easy way to dress up any look this winter. You'll feel super glamorous, trust me! While it's not right for outdoor sports, the faux fur does keep you decently warm too. Perfect for a night out or stroll in the snow. Cheers to 2016

It didn't hit me that 2015 was over, well until it happened. And we were onto 2016! I hope you had a fabulous start to the new year. I attended a fun New Years Eve party "The White Ball" in Vancouver, Washington. I found this dress already in my closet. I wore it for an event in college, we're talking way back in 2003. There aren't many things I still have around that old, but in this case it proved quite helpful. And it even still fit. (Now you know I'm not very good at doing that thing where you frequently clean out your closet.) The black jacket is a more recent clearance rack find from Lane Bryant. It definitely made the outfit. Plus, I had a reason to wear my Charles Albert statement necklace. The necklace was my major souvenir purchase from my trip to Alaska last summer. I tried to do a "sexy new year's eve" waves hair tutorial, but my hair ended up pretty flat. You are supposed to curl your hair in opposite directions and then spray it with a texturing spray. I used Suave's Sea Salt Texturizing Spray. I think I needed some hair spray. The texturizing spray seemed to deflate my curl. Oh well, I've always been more of a makeup girl than a hair girl. 'Tis the Season for Christmas Sweaters

This adorable Christmas sweater was less than $17! A deal and so cute. And since you might only be able to wear a Christmas sweater to a party or two during the holiday season, there's no reason to spend a lot. But you will be ready for next year! This outfit was my choice for a work holiday party. The sweater was just the right amount of festive and it was also comfy, which is always a bonus. Christmas is almost here so you only have a few more days to wear those Christmas sweaters! Let's make it Christmas sweater week. I'm also wearing a new lipstick from MAC. It's Mariah Carey's special edition "All I Want" lipstick. It's a gorgeous glimmering champagne lipstick. You can view swatches on my instagram account @melissamchee. Cozy winter days

This puffy blue and black vest from Old Navy is the perfect comfort item for a cold winter day. The vest has plenty of fill to make you feel nice and cozy. It's kind of like wearing a soft blanket because the material is super soft flannel. The outfit was all about staying warm right down to the soft fuzzy lined clogs. The crocs are perfect to wear around the house to keep your toes warm, but if you need to run out for something you're also set for wet weather. The colorful eyeshadow is from Urban Decay's electric palette. It's a super fun eyeshadow palette filled with bold matte colors. It's great to pair with some of the neutrals from the Urban Decay Naked basics palette. Urban decay makes some of my favorite eyeshadows (highly pigmented, fun colors) and purchasing a palette is a great way to get a lot of colors to experiment with different looks. I think a palette is the best way to purchase eyeshadow.  

I hope you are staying warm and if you're in the Pacific Northwest dry! We've been having quite the downpour recently, which has made getting around interesting. Only a couple weeks left until Christmas, are you all ready? I just have a few more packages to mail and getting ready for out-of-town visitors. Happy Holidays!
